Representative Offices have been established and successfully function in Ukraine and Slovakia to strengthen JSC TVEL position in the countries having the priority for business development. They investigate into the market demand, political and economic situation in countries of Eastern and Western Europe; provide recommendations on business in the states of the continent; render assistance to formalizing and effecting supplies of goods and equipment. Representative Offices’ staff provides assistance in contract implementation, finding solutions to production, process and commercial issues.
Representative Offices are responsible for acting on behalf of the Fuel Company in Ukraine, Slovakia, other countries of Eastern, Central and Western Europe; for promoting the development of various forms of trade and economic cooperation of JSC TVEL and foreign partners; for facilitating the participation in the exhibitions and shows; for supervising the progress on the arrangements made.
The Representative Office in Ukraine actively cooperates with JSC JV UKR TVS in establishing production capacities of nuclear fuel cycle in the territory of this country.

Interesting facts about nuclear energy
Radioactive phenomenon was discovered by Antuan Becquerel in 1898. At first it was thought that the discovered radiation is emitted by an atom. But only later it became known that their source is a nucleus.
The first nuclear reactor was built in the USA in 1942 under the direction of Enrico Fermi. In the USSR the first reactor was commissioned 4 years later. The project was headed by Igor Kurchatov.
In 2000, nuclear power industry was the first to achieve the “pre-perestroika” level of production, as compared with other industries. Since 1998 Russia’s NPPs have provided annual growth of electricity generation in an average by 7 Bln kWh.
