Modern resource-saving techniques of production along with performance of environment protection activities and continuous environmental monitoring are undertaken at the Company enterprises.

Special attention is paid by the Fuel Company to elimination of negative consequences and damage of the “nuclear heritage", the damage made to the environment during the years of the first atomic project, as a result of implementation of the national defence programs at the enterprises incorporated within the Fuel Company.

Special services of subsidiaries, that comprise the laboratories of nuclear safety, environmental protection, radiation safety ensure the industrial environmental monitoring and management of environment protection activities.

The activities of Fuel company TVEL follow the principle of precautionary through prediction and assessment of environmental risks that allow avoid, reduce or control the release or production of any types of pollutants or waste, eliminate or minimize the impact of production activities on environment, personnel and public in the regions of the Company presence.

HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY OF THE COMPANY ENTERPRISES IS CONFIRMED BY CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY TO STANDARD OF ENVIRNMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ISO 14001:2015

IN OPERATION OF TVEL NUCLEAR FACILITIES NO SERIOUS EVENT HAS BEEN RECORDED
to be classified by INES (International Nuclear Event Scale) as exceeding the safe and permissible parameters of nuclear and radiation safety, accidents and incidents reportable to Rostechnadzor. Environmentally significant enterprises of FC TVEL annually publish the open reports on environmental safety, which information is addressed to stakeholders, partners, public and municipal authorities and posted on the site of the Public Council of State Corporation Rosatom.
