The Fuel Company enterprises successfully implement the Program for energy saving and efficiency. In this area, it is one of the best divisions of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. Its share in energy savings within the nuclear industry is about 40%.
Chepetsk Mechanical Plant (JSC CMP, incorporated within Rosatom Fuel company TVEL) in terms of energy efficiency was recognized to be the best in Russian nuclear industry. The rating is developed on the basis of the results of work in the field of energy saving and efficiency by trends of the 2017 and 2018 in comparison to the results of 2015. Only for the last two years the growth of energy savings indicator at Chepetsk Mechanical Plant attained 49%.
By 2019 the electricity saving at TVEL enterprises amounted to 668 million kWh-hr, thermal energy - 1 066 Gcal as compared to the reference 2015 year in comparable circumstances.
The Fuel Company is also a leader in implementation of automated systems for accounting of energy recourse and methodology for energy efficiency improvement in nuclear industry including the processes of energy surveys, development of long-term investment, organizational and technical programs, conducting specific activities in the area of energy savings, enhancement of the process safety.
The Fuel Company is developing an integrated system of cost control, and energy efficiency is an important component of it.
